I like to know a few details about what you want and expect in a Collie: companion (for example), or if you are interested in showing. You could also explain what kind of temperament you are looking for, as well as the sex and color that interest you. I like to know about your home, as a fenced yard (open space) is good for continuing house training, exercise, and safety. Although Collies do well outside I believe they should come in and be part of the family as much as possible. In fact sleeping inside is a favorite activity. I believe a Collie should be able to sleep inside, in an arrangement that is comfortable for the whole family.
I like to know if you have children. Collies adore kids and get along with them (bond) really well. It is unwise to leave puppies unattended at home for long periods. We like to make sure that any prospective Collie home is capable of the full time job of raising a pup. Alternatives, such as a young, trained adult, are sometimes available. This can be talked about later, if you are still interested in one of my dogs.
I realize this may sound like a lot of questions, but I am always concerned where my pups will be going, and try to screen homes to provide happiness for my Collies as well as the people who buy them. I like them to go into homes where they will be part of the household.
If this sounds like a pup or dog you would be interested in, please get in touch for more info. Chris Ferguson
